TEBOW

Our friends, The Feagans, are HUGE Denver Broncos fans.  Back in June, shortly after Miller passed away, Nancee wrote a letter to the Tim Tebow Foundation to tell them about Miller’s story.  A couple of weeks ago she received this post card in the mail from the foundation:)…..

Also, while at one of the Broncos games, they made this sign with a quote from Field of Dreams and Miller’s 5-Peaks logo!  Thank you to the Feagans and Keeter families for helping spread Miller’s wordSmile…..

Coins that Count…..an opportunity to give.

Mandy White is a “new friend” of mine since Miller’s journey began.  She heard of our story through some mutual friends, and really took an interest in our little man.  We became friends on Facebook and she follows our blog, keeping up with Miller every step of the way.  She has felt a calling to do something to help from the very beginning, and just didn’t know what she could do that would make a significant impact.  Well, she contacted me a few weeks ago with a fundraising idea to do with her school.  We were immediately on board and so excited to have these young children and their families help raise money and spread the word about SMA.  THANK YOU, Mrs. White, for taking an interest in our story and being passionate about our cause!

Below is the letter that was sent to the students parents:

Mrs. White’s third grade class is working on a community project to raise money for The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation. We would like to invite you to also participate in “Coins That Count”. Monies collected will help with the cost of research and to help patients and their families that suffer from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).

How can you join us in this effort?

Collect coins! “Coins That Count” will begin Tuesday, January 17, and run through January 27.

Here’s the challenge!

Help us make Lakeside Intermediate a significant contributor to this great cause. We will provide the winning class in each grade level a VERY SPECIAL snack time. How does cupcakes, nachos, or popcorn sound? Your class gets to choose their snack of choice and everyone will receive an “I’m with Miller” wrist- band.

Go Above and Beyond for this great cause!

Any class that collects $500 or more will receive a celebration pizza party!

“I hope you had a great Christmas and that 2012 is treating you well so far.  I think about (and pray for) you and your family every day, especially when I look at Davis, who is not quite 3 months older than Miller.  Anyway, we had a "Miller sighting" at our house at Davis's birthday party this weekend!  I had ordered his birthday cake from Harp's with not many specifics - all I told them was to use primary colors and safari animals.  Right after making sure everything was spelled correctly when I picked it up, I saw Miller's sign on the bottom left part of the cake!  That sweet baby boy is EVERYWHERE!  :o)”

“It’s funny how a few months ago I had never seen chevron print and now just over the past few months its everywhere, dresses, pillows, shirts, pictures. You can't get on pinterest without everyone posting beautiful things with the chevron pattern on them. Coincidence, I think not. Miller is just everywhere these days and I am loving it. I can't help but smile when I see a woman walk by in a missoni dress now. Hope y'all are doing well. I'm With Miller. “

*Patrick, Cole and I went backroading yesterday afternoon.  We came upon a couple of cows on this dirt road, so we stopped to “talk” to them.  One of them was so close to our window I felt like I could touch it.  They were tagged, and this ones tag was 51.  I was thinking how cool it would have been if it had been “87”.  As we were driving off, the cow laying next to this one stood up and looked us in the eye.  His tag read “143”.  For those of you that don’t know, my dad signs all of his emails to my mom, my sister and me “143, Dad”.  It’s his code way of saying I LOVE YOU.  (1 letter in I, 4 letters in LOVE, 3 letters in YOU).  I think this was Miller’s way of telling us he loves usSmile…..

*My nephew, Ryan, is playing Upward Basketball this year.  When he got his jersey and saw he was #5, he said “Mom, I’m 5.  Like the 5-Peaks”.  Then he pointed out the star.  We think stars symbolize Miller, because they have 5 peaksStar…..

Another HOG Victory…..

We got to watch another Hog VICTORY!  The Hogs beat LSU, and it was a GREAT game!  The crowd was the best we have seen in a REALLY long time!!!

002003004005

During some of the time outs, they go around and throw t-shirts at the crowd.  Cole always stands on his chair, waving his arms, and screaming his little heart out, only to be let down game after gameSad smile.  Our seats are on the 4th row, and I think the people throwing them out like a challenge and to show off their muscles, seeing who can throw it the highest.  That’s all fun and games for everyone, EXCEPT the kiddos that sit down low.  Well, Ms. Carmen (Cole’s BFF at the games) couldn’t stand it any longer, so she went and bought a shirt for Cole on her own and handed it to Pork Chop without Cole seeing.  Boy, was this little guy excited when Pork Chop came to him with a “special delivery”!!!  So sweet!!!

Thank you Ms. Carmen, for always thinking of Cole!  He thinks you’re pretty specialSmile…..
