My friend, Amanda, had her 3rd baby girl just 1 month before our Mattie was born. I can’t wait to watch these sweet girls grow up together:)…..

Cole has been getting lots of 1 on 1 time with Patrick at Artex and he’s been LOVING it!
Heading out bright and early in the morning…..
Visiting Miller’s marker on Memory Lane…..
Cole and Sam, best buddies

Mattie is with Miller

and Miss HOG WILD

We went out to dinner Friday night. Cole’s favorite restaurant to go eat at right now is Bariola’s. He is obsessed with their “Big Buck” game and probably goes through about $20 worth of quarters every time we are there. Makes for an expensive night of pizza;)…..
Cole went back to school today. I was nervous that he was going to freak out about having to go since he hadn’t been all week long and he knew momma and Peg were going to be home with Mattie all day, but he did GREAT!!! Didn’t complain one tiny bit! He wanted to give Mattie some loving before he left:)…..
When he was giving her kisses he said “there’s Miller”. I had no idea what he was talking about until he pointed out the cord from the swing was making /\/\/\/\/\. I LOVE that he sees Miller in little things like that…..
Miss Mattie headed to her 1st Doctors visit…..
Proud daddy and happy baby girl
…..
Everything checked out perfect at the doctor. Her tone is really good, which is something we will never take for granted again! She had dropped to 7.9lbs (from 8.3), but my milk just came in today so she should be packing the pounds back on in no time
.
We don’t waste any time around here getting our babies in our groove. I am a busy body and luckily I have good babies that go with the flow;)! Mattie ran around town all day with my mom and me running errands. She and mom stayed in the car for most of the stops, but she was a trooper the entire time. Love her…..
Cole stayed home from school with us today. It was our first full day home with Mattie and I just couldn’t make him go. You can tell from this picture he was a happy camper
!
All snuggled up in her swing. Getting ready to head to Nana and Papa’s for “Taco Wednesday”…..
Our night at the hospital was good. For some reason they couldn’t get me to stop bleeding, so it was sort of a long night for me, but Mattie was perfect and that’s what really matters;). I LOVE this picture of Patrick holding her. Can you believe how much hair she has?!?
Bud, Lindsey and the boys stopped by on their way out of town to say bye to Miss Mattie. I know they were sad to have to leave…..
Because neither Mattie or I had any complications we were able to leave the hospital 24 hours after delivery, so we packed up and headed home at 5:00pm. She had a blow out on her “going home” outfit so we didn’t get any pictures in it. Here she is all snuggled up in her footie pajamas once we made it home. Home sweet home

Mattie McNeil Woodruff
September 24, 2012/4:54pm
8lbs 3oz/19.5 inches
We checked into the hospital at 7:00am on Monday morning and welcomed our sweet baby GIRL into the world 10 hours later. Here is the recap of Labor & Delivery:
7:00am- check in
8:30am- 3/75%
11:00am- got epidural:)
11:30am- started pitocin & broke water
1:30pm- 5/80%
3:30pm- 7/90%
4:15pm- 8/90%
(then I threw up, as usual)
4:45pm- complete!
4:54pm- MATTIE IS BORN
It was my easiest delivery by far!!! For some reason I always throw up right before I am complete. My mom called it “transition”. I have no idea what that is, but after they checked me at 4:15pm and I was 8/90% I decided it was time to do my usual throw up. My sweet sister always holds my hair while I puke in the lovely barf bag. I hate to throw up more than anything in this world, but because all I ever have on my stomach is popsicles it’s really not that bad. LOL! As soon as I threw up my mom said she thought it was transition and asked the nurse to check me again. I thought she was crazy because she had literally just walked out of the room from checking me and I was an 8. I didn’t think there was any way I would have already progressed to a 10! Boy was I wrong! She checked me at 4:45pm and said I was complete. Mattie was born 9 minutes later! We hardly had time to get our family/friends out of the room and the nurses/doctor in the room! That’s my kind of delivery:)!!!
As you probably remember, my dad always writes his grandbabies poems. He has written all 3 of our kiddos poems while I have been in labor. It’s what he does to pass the time and calm his nerves;). It is something that is SO, SO special to us and our babies will get to have and treasure forever. Here is Mattie’s poem:
Mattie
Mattie McNeil Woodruff arrived here today.
Our prayers have been answered in a wonderful way.
A new baby girl to love and adore.
A first for our family, who could ask for more.
This little lady a difference will make.
All boys before for goodness sake.
The carnival ride has just begun.
Strap yourself in and hold on for the fun.
I know from my past what’s ahead for ole dad.
She’ll make your heart smile and rarely sad.
Everything happens for a reason, we know.
Our thanks be to God for blessing us so.
143, Bud
