Patrick and Papa took Cole on his very 1st turkey hunt last week. He had so much fun!!! You can tell from the videos below that he was a little cranky after being woken up at 5:15am, but I think he would tell you it was worth it. My baby boy is growing up:(…..
April 29, 2011/10:21pm- “Settling into our NEW “normal.” Made it to the park today and went our for Mexican food tonight! These cords aren’t going to slow us down:)!”
After Cole’s 4 year check up, we treated him to a lunch/bowling date with Cy and Ellie. It was just what the doctor ordered:)…..

Cole had a great 4 year check up! His stats are:
38.7 lbs (70th percentile)/43 inches tall (95th percentile)
He is wearing:
Size 12.5 shoe/5T shirts/5T pants/4T shorts
He passed all of the screening test with flying colors, and actually survived his shots. I’m not gonna lie, it was SAD but we all survived it. You don’t get shots at the 3 year check up, so this was the first time since he was 2 years old that he’s had shots. I think it is MUCH harder the older they get:(.
April 26, 2011/2:35pm- In EMG now. Prayers…..
April 26, 2011/7:55pm- The EMG results did not bring good news. Our sweet baby boy has been diagnosed with Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Although our hearts are breaking, we will remain faithful. We feel certain our little guy has a purpose and can’t wait to see the joy he brings to our lives! Please continue to pray for our strength and Miller’s health.
April 25, 2011/8:28am- They have decided to do the muscle biopsy today instead of tomorrow. He will go back at 2:00pm. Thank you so much for your prayers!
April 25, 2011/12:44pm- They came early to get Miller. He is having biopsy done as we speak. Pray, pray, pray:)…..
April 25, 2011/3:24pm- Muscle biopsy went good! We are back in the room! The neurosurgeon said the muscle looked good to the naked eye:)! Now they will send a specimen to their lab and to UAMS for further testing. Now the waiting game begins. Thank you SO much for your prayers.

GIRL!!!!!!
We are SO excited to announce that Cole and Miller are going to have a baby SISTER:)!!! A friend of ours did a “sneak peek” ultrasound on us and confirmed that it is indeed a baby girl! Jyl told us at 12 weeks (when we were in LR for a doctors appointment) that she thought it was a girl, but it was just too early to tell for sure. She said she was 51% sure it was a girl. Dr. Birch told us at 15 weeks that she was 75% sure it was a girl. But to hear a definite “you can paint the nursery, It’s a GIRL!” was just surreal. We obviously don’t care what we are having, we just want a healthy baby, so with that being said, if something starts to “grow” in the next couple of months, we would certainly be happy with a boy, too. In the meantime, I’m going to let the fun and games of shopping begin;)! Thank you all for your continued prayers. We are sincerely grateful for each and every one!

Yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of the day we took Miller to the doctor due to our concern for his lack of muscle tone. Part of me feels like it was just yesterday, and the other part feels like it’s been years…..

April 21, 2011/10:30am- Our world was turned upside down yesterday. Our sweet baby Miller has been diagnosed with a muscular disease. We don’t know exactly which one, but most likely a form of muscular dystrophy. We have been thrown a curve ball, but are ready to play the game! We are on the road to Children’s Hospital now and hope to have more answers soon. We would appreciate your prayers during this trying time in our lives.

This weekend is Razorback Athletics Alumni Weekend. Patrick played in the golf tournament today, then Cole and I met him at the football stadium for a fish fry. Cole had so much fun playing with his daddy’s buddies kiddos:)…..
