Rainbow Baby

My friend, Emily Stein, shared this with me the other day and I loved it so much that I wanted to share:

“Rainbow Babies" is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn't mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope.

*We got a package in the mail today that had Mattie’s very 1st monogrammed outfit in it.  You all know that I am a sucker for a monogrammed bubble, so I’m sure this won’t be the last.  Seeing her little name on a piece of clothing somehow made it seem so real!!!

*We also had a doctors appointment today.  Everything looked great!  Dr. Birch is so sweet and does an ultrasound every visit.  It was hard to get a good picture of her because she was moving SO much!  You can’t tell from the picture below, but she was rubbing her little eyes!  SO SWEET…..

Party with a Purpose- Mayes Jones

Mayes Jones had a Party with a Purpose for his buddy Miller, giving up gifts on his 1st Birthday, asking his guest to instead bring a donation to Miller’s Butterfly Garden at Circle of Life Hospice.  They have always called Mayes their “Little Buggy”, so it was a bug themed party, which made the butterfly garden donations very appropriate:).  Now when Mayes gets older he can visit the garden and know that he helped his buddy, Miller, make a difference in the world…..

*Miller passed away when Mayes was only 3 weeks old, but I’m so glad they got to meet…..

Back to Reality

We headed back to reality today.  Bud & Peg dropped us off at the airport on their way out of town and we said our goodbyes:(.  It was a WONDERFUL week!  We couldn’t have asked for anything better, but it’s always good to get home.  It makes me happy that our family loves “home” so much!  It’s truly where the heart is:).  With that being said, we are already looking forward to next year!  Miss Mattie will be an 8 month old ball of fire by then;)!

Beach- Day 6

When we woke up today it was a little rainy.  The Whatley family had to leave today, so after we sent them off, we headed to the outlet malls and did some scenic driving.  The highlight of the drive was stopping to get some ice cream:).  At about noon the sun was shining bright, so we decided to go back to the condo so we could go enjoy our last day on the beach.  We stayed on the beach until almost 6:30pm before heading up to eat some yummy boiled shrimp.  I’m sad it was our last day, but we went out with a bang:)…..
