Miller
Was scrolling through pictures on my computer tonight and this one caught my eye. Earlier this morning we had taken Miller to the doctor because we were concerned with his lack of movement. I remember exactly where I parked and still to this day refuse to park in the same spot;). We figured we would be sent home with the diagnosis of "paranoid parents". Instead we left that parking lot and headed straight to Mercy. This picture was taken during our overnight stay at Mercy. We knew something was wrong but had NO idea just how bad things really were. We left for ACH the next morning and 1 week later got the diagnosis that changed our lives forever! I now have a hole that will NEVER be replaced. I can now break down in tears at ANY given time for no apparent reason. I have a baby in heaven! There is a missing piece to my puzzle. But is there??? Is there REALLY a missing piece, or did his piece fit just right??? I choose to believe this was His plan. Miller's "piece" is right where it is supposed to be. He was here on earth just long enough to make his mark. The things he has accomplished have FAR exceeded any dreams I ever had for him as my son. He is changing lives. He is making a difference. He is my baby boy and I am SO proud!

Parrot Heads are With Miller!
We were to excited to learn that proceeds from the Little Rock Parrot Head Club’s 2013 Christmas party auction were going to The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation! My aunt Karen and Uncle Paul are members of this group and have shared Miller’s story with all of their friends. For those of you that don’t know what the LRPHC is all about, it is a small group of people who came together with the purpose to build a base of good people who share a common love of the carefree island lifestyle and are dedicated to a commitment of service to the communities in which they live. To put it in the most simple terms, people who love Jimmy Buffett’s music and are willing to live up to the saying “Party With a Purpose”. Well, we can honestly say that their 2013 Christmas party definitely had PURPOSE! They raised $2,100 for Miller’s foundation!!! THANK YOU to the Little Rock Parrot Head Club for your support!

$25,000 to the Amazeum
We were so excited to make a $25,000 to Amazeum. Thanks to this donation, one of the featured displays inside the Amazeum, a planned interactive family museum to be located near Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, will be accessible to children with disabilities. The funds will be used to install a lift that will allow disabled children access to a former Walmart semi-truck, which will be placed inside the museum and contain multiple activities for children to experience while inside the vehicle. This will allow ALL children to participate in this display! The lift will include a special plaque that acknowledges the Foundation and that the donation was made in memory of Taylor McKeen Shelton, Wes & Ella Shelton’s 14 month old son that died in June from SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Children). After Taylor’s passing, his parents chose to have memorial donations made to The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation. The donations we received in Taylor’s memory were overwhelming so we wanted to do something special to honor him. This seemed like the perfect fit! We have become very close friends with Wes and Ella due to the similar circumstances we have endured. We hope the lift and the plaque help raise awareness about SMA, SUDC, neuromuscular diseases in general and support for all children with disabilities.

Ryan Mallet
Ryan Mallet competed in a celebrity gaming challenge on 12/11 and won $10,000 for The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation! Ryan and Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski each got to choose a charity to benefit. The looser got $5,000 to the charity of their choice and the winner got $10,000. Gronk choose the Gronk Nation Foundation and Ryan chose The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation! How awesome is that!?! Unfortunately, Gronk got injured shortly before the challenge, so Will Middlebrooks stepped up in his place. Will and Ryan are childhood friends so this added an extra element of competition to the game! Needless to say, Ryan WON the challenge and $10,000 for The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation! THANK YOU, Ryan, for supporting Miller’s cause!
