Best BIG Brother in the World!

Cole has been absolutely PERFECT through this whole process! I worried so much about how he would adjust. From the time my baby bump was obvious, he has been VERY excited about Miller, but I worried that when he actually got here, those feelings of excitement would fade. I worried about how he would be at the hospital during labor while I was in the hospital bed with tubes coming from me, I worried about how he would do after Miller was born and he had to leave the hospital without us, I worried about him misbehaving for special attention once we got home, I worried about ME having a pity party and feeling sorry for him/myself because he wasn't my "baby" anymore, and the list could go on and on. Needless to say, I did ALOT of worrying, and SO FAR it has all been for nothing:)! Patrick and I had to be at the hospital at 6:00am, which meant leaving the house at 5:30am. As we were walking out the door, Cole woke up:(! We were pressed for time, so I didn't have time to try to get him back to sleep, so I left him wide awake with my mom and sister. Not a good start for the LONG day he had ahead of him! I told mom to bring his sleeping bag and portable DVD player so he could at least "rest" at some point during the day. I had NO IDEA he would actually take a 3 hour nap in my room with tons of people in and out. When he woke up, he made some friends in the waiting room, so between his new friends, my sister, and all 4 grandparents, he was definitely entertained:)! He was a trooper all the way until the end! My mom, dad and sister left the hospital with him at 10:30pm. He was EXHAUSTED!!! The next day he came up to the hospital with my family at about noon. They didn't plan to stay long, but he ended up falling asleep again and taking another 3 hour nap in my room, so they were there from noon until about 7:30. Since we have been home, he has been nothing but sweet to his new little brother! He is so gentle and sweet with him. I will catch him just staring at him, talking to him, and "petting him" all the time. I'm sure we will have some bad days, and I may have jinxed myself by saying all of this out loud, but I wanted to give my little man some credit:)! We love you Cole, and are unbelievably grateful that you have so graciously filled the BIG brother role! Here is a picture of him on his new rocking motorcyle that Bud brought him:).....

Going Home

We left the hospital at 10:30pm Tuesday night. They require the baby to stay for 24 hours, so once we hit that mark, we were out the door;)! Rhonda got Miller a super sweet "going home" outfit, but since we left practically in the middle of the night, we just left the gown on him that he'd had on all day. We will have to have a "fake" homecoming picture taken one day before church or something:).

He's Here!

Miller McNeil Woodruff

March 28th 2011/9:46pm

8lbs, 12.5oz/20.5 inches

We checked into the hospital at 6:00am on Monday morning. After 16 hours of labor, we welcomed our sweet baby boy into the world! The whole process was great! I know 16 hours may seem like a long time, but when you are comparing it to 30 HOURS, it was fantastic:)! Thank goodness for Facebook, I was able to keep everyone updated all day long! 3 years ago, when I had Cole, I had a list of people I had to CALL, a list of people I had to EMAIL, a list of people I had to TEXT, and then of course there are still people that feel left out, so it was nice to have 1 outlet that MOST people could follow along with;)!

Here is the Facebook recap:

6:00am- check in

7:23am- 2/40%

8:21am- started pitocin

12:16pm- got epidural

1:23pm- 3/70%

2:47pm- 4/70%

4:15pm- 5/90%

5:56pm- 6/100%

7:18pm- 7/100%

9:14pm- 10!!!

9:46pm- MILLER TIME

Here is a poem my dad wrote while he was waiting for Miller's arrival:

Miller

Mom & Dad & Brother agree

you're a special addition to the Woodruff three

In no time at all God made you complete

from the top of your head to the soles of your feet

Laugh and love as you make your own way

give thanks for your blessings at least once a day

Leave anger behind, be gentle but strong

stay true to yourself when things go wrong

Earn the respect of all those you meet

be humble in victory, learn from defeat

Real friends are a gift so fine and so rare

choose them wisely, choose them with care

I love you,

Bud

My 1st and 2nd babies:).....

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! We will welcome Miller McNeil Woodruff to our family! We are so excited! We will get to the hospital at 6:00am to start the induction process. I'm sure it will be a LONG day (my labor with Cole was 30 hours long!). I will try to keep everyone posted via text and/or facebook. I'm not taking my computer, so I won't be blogging. If we aren't FB friends, "friend" me to stay in the loop:). Here are pictures of my first 2 "babies".....

Drive Thru Zoo

Sunday morning, Kim and I loaded up up the kiddos and took them to the Gentry Drive Thru Zoo. It was so much fun! Last time we went (last year), Cole was a little freaked out and made me carry him around the petting part the whole time. Thankfully, this year he was ALL about it! I don't think I would have physically been able to carry him around this time;)!

We did the drive thru part first, then walked around the petting part, saw the babies, and fed all kinds of animals. To top off the adventure, we stopped at McDonald's on the way home and grabbed a quick lunch:)!

FUN TIMES!!!
