SNOW

Boy did we get some snow! I have never seen anything like it. I think the official report for our area was 22 inches! CRAZY!!! What makes it even crazier is the fact that we were only supposed to get 3-5 inches! After living through the South Arkansas ice storm of 2001 (or whatever year it was, my junior year of college), I ALWAYS prepare for winter weather. Everything from the grocery store run to filling my car up with gas:)! Patrick always makes fun of me, but I figure it's better to be safe than sorry. Needless to say, this is the 1 time that I actually didn't do this, and we literally could NOT get out of our driveway! Ooops! Thank goodness Patrick was stuck home with us (on his 30th birthday!), so we sent him to Walmart in his big truck! He said the roads were horrible! It kills me not to be able to get out in this stuff, but being 33 weeks pregnant and having a 2 year old that would have to be in tow, I'm pretty much stuck inside:(!

These pictures really don't do the snow justice. Cole doesn't weigh enough to pack it down all the way to the ground, but he did a good job wading around in it. It was pretty funny to watch;).....

Big 3-0 AND 6-0

Patrick and Rhonda both have big milestone birthdays this year. Patrick turned 30 yesterday and Rhonda will be 60 tomorrow! We celebrated both of the birthdays Monday night at Nana and Papa's house. Cole loves a party:).....

Helping daddy blow out his candles....

Now it's Nana's turn:).....

waiting patiently to open presents.....

Uncle "carl" got Patrick a nice fishing pole:).....
Now helping Nana. We got her a North Face jacket so she can stay nice and warm during this crazy cold weather we have been having:).....

Hayden's Birthday Party

We went to Jump Zone yesterday for Hayden't 4th Birthday Party! Cole LOVES that place! He had so much fun climbing the slides and sliding down, UNTIL he found the bounce house with balls and a basketball goal in it, and we literally could NOT get him out! We talked him out of there for a few minutes, but the only way he would come out is to take one of the balls with him, which I feel sure was against the rules;)!

The precious Birthday Girl:).....

Suckers

While trying to potty train Cole to go #2 on the potty, we would bribe him with suckers. He has been over that for a while now, but for some reason the other day, he insisted after he went potty that he have a sucker. I didn't argue and gave him the sucker bowl. I left the room for a second, and when I came back he had 3 suckers unwrapped and in his mouth. I guess he was making up for lost time;).....

(there is a white one that you can't reallly see:)...

Lily and Maggie

It's been a while since I've posted any pics of the Rusher girls. After being cooped up in our house with all of the snow, we ventured to their house for dinner. It's nice having friends that live less than 1 mile away! Especially ones that can cook;)!!!

Cabin Fever

Another day stuck inside.....I decided not to attempt the drive into work today. It's just not worth it to get a 2 year old and a 32 week preggo out in this mess! Thankfully I can do my work from home, so playing catch up tomorrow won't be that bad! I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying your snow days:).....

Where's Cole?

Cole has a new obsession.....sleeping with things! He insists on sleeping with EVERY ball and stuffed animal in our house! Also, new additions are all of Lucy's toys, his baseball bats/gloves, his fishing pole, and his GUNS! It is a dart gun and an UNLOADED bb gun, but it looks so bad;)!!! I can't believe my child is a hoarder;(!!! For those of you that know me, you know I am the FARTHEST thing from a hoarder! This new obsession is driving me crazy;)!

Duck Hunting

Patrick took Coach DeBriyn duck hunting Saturday afternoon. They were only gone for a couple of hours and came home with a goose, a green head, and 3 gadwals!

Tonsillectomy

Cole had a tonsillectomy last week. He was SUCH a big boy!!! I dreaded the surgery for months beforehand:(! It was definitely harder on Patrick and me than it was on Cole! He bounced back like none other, and was literally RUNNING the hospital halls the night of his surgery. We had to spend the night, since he is under 3 years old, they like to watch their airways for 24 hours. The most challenging part was taking him to the bathroom, what seemed like every 30 minutes! Try taking a 2 year old to the bathroom while he is hooked up to an IV on one side, and a pulse/ox machine and BP cuff on the other;)!!!

Pre-op with mommy.....

Being rolled back:(....

Riding in the elevator.....

Obviously, clueless! Poor baby:(.....

Getting settled in our room, post-op.....

We had a view of a pond with tons of geese! I thought this would be a good thing for him to look at, but it ended up just frustrating him because he couldn't get closer to them! He kept saying, "Cole's too high!".....

Running the halls! Patrick could hardly keep up;)....

Playing with the cool wall in the waiting room. It lights up in all different colors when you touch it.....

Daddy got us Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast the next morning:).....

Off of the IV and waiting to get discharged.....

AND WE'RE OUT OF HERE:).....

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve with Nana and Papa at the Razorback basketball game. It was nice to have something to do, but even nicer to be home and off of the streets before all of the crazies came out;)! Happy New Year to all of our family and friends!

Feeding the Ducks

The weather on Friday was awesome, so we decided to take advantage of it before the frigid temps returned. We pass this lake on our way to Wal-Mart and EVERY time Cole asks if we can go see the ducks. These 3 white ducks live there full time. They are the funniest things! I wish I had a close up picture of them. They have little afros on top of their heads! They will come right up to you, but aren't aggressive at all! Some other kiddos had the same idea we had, so by the time we got there their bellies were already full and they weren't too interested in us;)! As an added bonus, we also got to see an airplane take off!
