Race for the Cure

We woke up bright and early this morning and drove to Little Rock to do Race for the Cure.  It is always such a special day.  We have been doing it since my mom was diagnosed 8 years ago (mom was diagnosed 1/23/04).  This year we walked in celebration of my Aunt Kathy, too!  She was diagnosed a little over 1 1/2 years ago.  Last year was her first year to walk as a survivor, and the race in her hometown was on the same day as the LR race, so she didn’t get to walk with us.  We were so glad she was with us this year!

Dad and Steven in their usual post.  Dad has held the same poster for 8 years, and this year he and Steven held an “I’m with Miller” bannerSmile…..

Dad is a pretty popular fixture along the 3 Miles of Men!  Every year countless women stop to have their pictures taken with him! This year he had a man come up to him with a cardboard cutout of his wife’s face and told him that his wife had had her picture taken with dad for the last 5 years and she was out of town this weekend so she wasn’t able to make the race, so he was supposed to have “her picture” made with Bud!!!  How funny is that!?!!
